Dr Kavya kamala At Tiruamal Naada Nirajanam

She is a genius in NASA, the space research organization that rules the world. She is the key responsibility of making the ‘spacesuits’ necessary for humans to land on Mars. But, as soon as she comes out of that laboratory, she is an actress. Dr. Kavya Kamal, who is spreading the glory of Bharatanatyam worldwide with her footprints, is a gem born in Hyderabad soil and shining in the American sky.

Father’s sacrifice for his daughter’s dream
The foundation of Kavya Kamal’s success is the incredible sacrifice made by her father Raghav Rao. He had a stable job as a manager in Indian Bank in Hyderabad. He noticed his daughter’s great interest in space. The stories told by her mother Manjula, showing her the moon in her childhood, sowed the seeds of Kavya Kamal’s desire to become a scientist. Raghav Rao, who thought that going to America was the only way to fulfill his daughter’s dream, studied software courses at the age of 45, quit his job and went abroad. The hard work of a father behind providing all the facilities there and taking the family has taken Kavya to the highest level in NASA today.

Success in education
Kavya Kamal, who completed her intermediate in Hyderabad, achieved unrivaled success in the field of education after going to America. She received a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech, an MS from the prestigious MIT, and later a Ph.D. from the University of North Kota. Her space journey, which began in 2006, has matured today with 19 years of experience. She has experience working on the Starliner mission where famous astronaut Sunita Williams traveled. This is the inspiring journey of Dr. Kavya Kamal, who, while designing ‘spacesuits’ at NASA, the American space research organization, performed Bharatanatyam on the Tirumala Nadanirajanam stage.

Kavya Kamal’s dream comes true in the presence of Srivari
It has been Kavya’s lifelong desire to dance in the presence of Srivari in Tirumala, no matter how many stages she has performed on in the world. After a seven-year wait, her dream has recently come true on the Nadanirajanam stage. She performed Trideva Stuti along with her fellow artists Dr. Sristhi Bhudur and Sindhu Ramachandran. Her dance to kirtans like Brahmakadigina Padamu and Dashavataram has taken devotees to the spiritual world. More information about Kavya Kamal is available on the internet.

A spiritual journey with her six-year-old daughter Chandrika on the stage with her three-legged friend No matter how much she has grown as a scientist, Kavya has never forgotten the artist in her. Her grandmother Kamaladevi was a great singer, so she developed her interest in dance from her. Kavya Kamal, who learned acting by watching Doordarshan dance shows at the age of four, was apprenticed to legends like Manjula Ramaswamy and VS Ramamurthy from the age of six. Her parents would be amazed by her dance performances on clay pots and brass plates.

Even after moving to America, she completed a diploma in Bharatanatyam from Dr. Ratna Kumar and has given more than 500 performances around the world. In 1998, receiving the ‘Balasree’ award from the then President KR Narayanan and dancing at Rashtrapati Bhavan were unforgettable moments in her life. Please read other posts as well

As part of a program at NASA, the American space research organization, she is conducting research on the development of highly complex spacesuits worn by astronauts for moon and Mars missions. Her intelligence is evidenced by eight patents and over thirty international research papers.

Kavya Kamal’s journey, which is coordinated by her husband Chetan Vemula, is unique. As part of the ambitious ‘Arbemis’ program, Kavya Kamal is researching the development of the most complex spacesuits worn by astronauts for missions to the Moon and Mars. Please read other posts as well

Another aspect of Kavya Kamal’s personality is her social consciousness: Not limited to NASA experiments and dance performances, she has also embarked on social service through mountaineering. She has climbed many high mountains to raise funds for the education of poor girls under the name ‘Project Sakhi’. Profession, passion. Social responsibility. Kavya Kamal, who loves all three equally and moves forward, is a rare personality that every Indian should be proud of. Her legacy of preserving ancient art while unraveling the mysteries of the physical world is an inspiration to future generations.

Her experience in human spaceflight extends to the Orion/Constellation program at Lockheed Martin and the Mars Bio-Satellite program at Georgia Tech and MIT. She has served as a crew member on NASA’s Asteroid Simulation Mission at JSC and two analog Mars missions in Utah, investigating technologies for long-duration human spaceflight missions.More Information is available in Internet.
