Civils… the dream of crores. If lakhs compete, very few can achieve the goal. This year, 299 women have secured the rank. This is a clear proof that nothing is impossible with willpower.. Zinnia Arora. She secured 156th rank in the last civil exams… and became an IPS officer. But that did not satisfy her. Jinia’s goal… IAS. She tried again for it. This time, she secured sixth rank… and made her dream come true.
If there is a desire to achieve something… no one can stop it. Zinnia’s journey says this. Love for society and the desire to make people aware… these are what have made her stand tall. Jinia, who runs her own voluntary organization, studied in leading educational institutions. After completing her schooling at Delhi’s Sanskrit School, she showed interest in social sciences and public affairs from the very beginning. She completed her BA in Ekana Mix and Political Science (2022) from Delhi University. She was the batch topper.
Some people have the impression that only those who go to big coaching centers and get trained get good ranks in civil services. Vaibhav Agarwal from Chhattisgarh has proven that such a perception is wrong. She studied in Hindi medium till her degree. This time, Vaibhav got the 35th rank at the All India level. I have been preparing for civil services since 2021. I have written the exams twice before. But I could not succeed. Page After Page, Jiniya took steps with the sole determination to achieve civil services, persevered and tried. She secured 156th rank in the 2024 Civil Services Examination (CSE) and was allotted to the IPS. Jiniya, who joined the service last year, was not satisfied with all that. She worked harder to fulfill her dream of becoming an IAS officer. She prepared strategically for the exams and subsequent interviews. She chose Political Science and International Relations as optional subjects and secured 6th rank in the latest Civil Services results.
Zinnia comes from an educated family. Her parents, Rajiv Kumar Arora and Anjana, are both government employees. Anjana is a retired Deputy Commissioner of Excise and Taxation. Their leadership qualities and social outlook inspired her, especially her mother’s inspiration, which led her to embark on the path of service. She started a voluntary organization named ‘Pace X’ with some friends. This organization is mainly working towards peacebuilding in collaboration with the United Nations and various countries. Jiniya, who took to the path of service at a young age, felt that she could bring more change to society as an IAS officer. She insisted on that and achieved the rank.
Rajeshwari Suve:
Rajeshwari Suve from Madurai made the word impossible possible. Not once, not twice.. Even after facing failure four times in a row, she did not give up. While serving as a trainee Deputy Collector, she achieved the second rank in the country in the “most difficult UPSC Civil Services examination” and proved it. Please read other posts too.
Rajeshwari hails from Vadipatti in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu and comes from an educated family. Her father Murugesan is a businessman, while her mother is a government college professor. The educational environment at home and the discipline she received as an NCC cadet during her college days led her towards civil services. She completed her Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Veltic Multitech Engineering College in Chennai and decided to be a part of the national service.
Her honesty is evident in her ability to say ‘I don’t know’ without hesitation when faced with unknown questions. Her analyses on social issues and administrative reforms in Tamil Nadu in particular have earned her top marks.
Rajeshwari’s preparation style is very unique. She not only reads books but also She used to make short notes in her own style. She chose sociology as an optional subject to increase her understanding of society. She gained a grasp of current affairs by reading dailies. Rajeshwari, who is already serving as a Group-1 officer as a Deputy Collector, impressed the board members by relating the challenges faced in the performance of her duties to her interview answers. Rajeshwari impressed the board members with great confidence before the interview board. Rajeshwari strongly believes that women’s empowerment should not stop with education alone, but should lead to financial independence. She says that for women to be able to make their own decisions, they need to have control over their financial resources. She says that empowerment is not just about having a job, but that women should play an active role in social change. She wants girls in rural areas to dream big and for that, people like her should set an example.
Those who get the second rank naturally choose IAS. But Rajeshwari has made it clear that her goal is IPS. She said that the pride she felt while wearing the uniform during her days in the army and the desire to work for the safety of women led her towards IPS. She believes that IPS has a better chance of providing immediate protection to the people than IAS. If there is perseverance, every failure can be overcome.
